3Not what I expected
By Ian
Before I purchased this adjustable Pohaku Stick, I asked my friend if I could borrow his "Bamboo Kahuna Big Stick".

He had the original stick with the dougnut (or wheel) shaped rubbers at the end. The feel of that stick was smooth since the soft rubber and the wood absorbed a lot of the impact when contacting concrete or asphalt. I was able to push throughout the entire movement. I also rode for 3 hours non-stop without any form of pain in my joints.

I decided to buy my own stick, and eventually I bought this one. I was expecting the Pohaku to give a similar feel but sadly it didn't. I started riding it but right away I noticed it wasn't the same. The new volcanized rubber on the blade was pretty hard and did not absorb impacts as well as the other rubber. In addition, the hollow metal stick didn't absorb the impact either and transfered the shock to my joints. I am only 18 years old, but within 30 minutes, my elbow joints were starting to really hurt; I couldnt ride anymore for a few days after the first use. On the second use, the metal adjustable pin broke. I called Kahuna Creations and they offered to quickly ship 2 metal adjustable pins; instead I kindly refused and chose to return this to buy a Bamboo Kahuna Big Stick.

CONS: Read the above.

PROS: The stick is very light-weight, allowing you to go on for long periods of time. The blade design also makes it harder for it to get in the path of the longboard, whereas the doughnuts would sometimes get in the way and cause you to stop very quickly.

NEUT: Every push had a "clink" and the holes in the stick made cool whistling sounds on windy days.

**Remember I am not trying to put down Kahuna Creations or their products, I am only giving you my experience with this stick**
**I actually love Kahuna Creations and have now purchased a Bamboo Kahuna Big Stick with the doughnut shaped rubbers**
**This was used in a flat coastal area without hills**

2The length lock button broke the first time it was used.
By Wes
The stick worked as shown. The length adjustment button broke loose and fell inside the stick the first time it was used. I screwed a self drilling screw to set the length so my daughter was able to use it Christmas day. The fact it was Christmas is why I didn't send it back. Apparently the locking mechanism is flawed.

5This thing is awesome
By Jim Lewis
If you are even slightly tempted to enter the world of stand up longboard skateboarding, please take the plunge. I have this product and would use it every day if I had the time. If you have ever tried stand up paddle boarding on water or any snow sport, you will love this. As it is, I have purchased longboards for both my kids, made them their own big sticks, and try to get out whenever the weather's nice and there isn't a lot of debris on the roads and paths in the park near our home. I am 44 years old, about 195 lbs., and until I purchased this item in July, 2011, I hand't been on a skateboard for about 30 years. Now, I use the KBS with a 56 inch Dregs Supertanker, but I also sometimes borrow my son's Stella Octo 42 x 9.5 " which works great, too. I am looking forward to trying snowboarding for the first time this winter with the KBS snow paddle attachment.
