5Excellent Set of Wheels for the Money
By Ancient Health Nut
This is really a great item! I have a Current Designs Caribou. This is a 17 foot touring kayak and the wheels fit perfectly. I use two bungee cords to attach it to the hull. It is easy to attach and use. Yes, the tires stink for a little while but that goes away. I have owned more expensive kayak carts but this is far superior. I also have a Wilderness Systems Tarpon 120 sit on top. I plan to use this cart for that kayak also. I have a cart that attaches through the scupper holes. However, I think that I'll like this one better.

5Outstanding performance
By Art B
I used my cart to haul a 14 foot kayak over six portages in the Adirondack Mountains. It gave me outstanding performance under very hard conditions. The key to using this cart is to get the strap configuration just right. My cart (purchased 2nd hand) came without instructions. If your experience is like mine, it may take a bit of trial and error to figure out where to place the cart under the boat and to figure out the straps. It is better to to this BEFORE heading out on a trip. The staps loop around the top tubes on either side of the foam pads. This will allow the user to cinch them up so the pads are very tight against the boat hull. Open up the cart, extend the kickstand, and loop the straps. Then lift the rear of the boat onto the cart. I positioned the cart directly under the rear storage compartment of my kayak. I initially tried positioning it under the middle of the boat but found that hard to do by myself. Also, having the cart in the middle position often meant the stern was hitting the ground on steep ascents or going over objects like roots and rocks. After a couple of uses, you should be able to hook up the cart on your boat in about 1 minute.

Pulling the cart over obstacles on the trail was not easy, but the large tires really do lessen the effort required. With the cart firmly in position, the boat bounced around all over the place on rough parts of the trail but the the boat never fell over nor did the cart fall off. This unit was torture tested and came through with flying colors. One last point, make sure you position the kickstand so it is facing backwards to your direction of travel. Folded and bungie corded to my deck, the cart was easy to carry on the water. Yup, the rubber tires stink - get over it!

3This cart stinks...really it does
By Ric Kasnoff
very strange...I've never smelt tires like these...horrible smell to them that keeps me from putting them in the camper van...been a week now and it isn't going away.

strap is barely adequate for my canoe and care needs to be taken to ensure that the metal buckle doesn't scratch my boat

it works to move the boat so I'll keep it but you might want to find one that doesn't have that horrible smell
