5Excellent Kayak
By C. Gray
First of all let me start out by saying I have an overwhelming fear of water. So I did a lot of research on what would make a stable kayak, because kayaking always looked like fun to me.

My husband and I bought two of these kayaks. We are both beginners (although he's rented a sea kayak a couple of times before but I have never been in one).

This kayak is VERY stable. We went out on Spada Lake in WA state and it was a tad bit windy and the water was a little choppy, there's also stumps everywhere and big rocks (the water level is very low right now). But I became so impressed with how stable this kayak felt that I started to calm down and slowly come out of my fear of water. It tracked pretty straight, but I'm a beginner paddler so my paddling technique needs to improve. But my husband got his up and moving pretty quickly, so they glide through the water with ease.

I love the little storage hatch on the back, and the shock cords on the front. The seat back was comfortable and I wanted to be able to really kick back and enjoy it, but my PFD was giving me issues (I suggest a kayak specific vest...I will be returning mine and getting a kayak PFD). The foot rests are NOT adjustable, but I had no issues with where my feet were resting (I'm 5'7"). My husband had no issues either (he's 6'). The seat itself was comfortable, I have no complaints with it. If you want adjustable foot rests, I'd suggest replacing these with some.

There are no thigh pads for around the cockpit edge though. I had no issue with it's sharp edges, but they are sharp (especialy when trying to pick it up by the edges). We'll likely fix that by buying some foam pipe insulation from a home improvement store and put it around the edge of the cockpit.

Overall I am very pleased with our purchase and I actually can't wait to get back out on the water! This is quite an accomplishment for me, but that little yak made me so comfortable on the water with how stable it felt, that I'm eager to get back out there.

5Great value and good handling
By K. Sexton
Solid, very stable, feels comfortable and confident.
Construction is good.
This was a great buy. I got 2.
Now we throw them in the back of the truck and hit the water anytime the urge strikes!
